Friday afternoon we went to Olde Towne Cyclery and Logan got his birthday present – an awesome mountain bike. He wasn’t able to bring it home yet because we had to be somewhere for dinner in 20 minutes, however, we did pick up the bike as soon as they opened Saturday morning (that’s ONE way to get him out of bed early on a Saturday!). Logan was anxious to go for his first ride, so we left OTC and went about 3 1/2 miles to the Cross Seminole Trail. Here’s a photo of the boys on the pedestrian overpass that crosses Hwy 17-92. Logan was previously doing bunny ears over Jacob’s head, hence the I’m-watching-you look on Jacob’s face.
We of course had to try out the mountain bike trails, too. Here’s a short video of Logan splashing in a puddle. It was actually a pretty steep hill – scarier than it looks to be in the video, haha! This was our first real excitement on the trail, at only about 50 yards in, if that.
Jacob quickly decided the trail was a little too scary, and I quickly decided my hybrid tires were not appropriate for the terrain, so Jacob and I locked up our bikes and walked the trail while Logan rode through on his bike.
We all got a little muddy on our 12.3 mile adventure, but we had SUCH a good time and can hardly wait to do it again!
