My Countryman’s First Mods

My beloved car “Phineus” has been in the shop getting some mods. Some small, some large, some unfinished, and some to be undone… Here’s a summary of the changes; check the descriptions for details.

  1. Update – what a horrible experience this turned out to be. 😥 I lost a lot of money and got some pretty shoddy work done with cheap parts. My very expensive radar detector didn’t work at all – which was a bummer because I could have really used it on the trip to North Carolina. The DVD headrests are cheap-o’s and I was taken when they charged me $600 for them on top of my trade-in. The owner considered these an upgrade, but now that I’ve researched it I can see clearly they are a DOWNGRADE from what I had. The Audi lights (which I don’t like anyway) are on the fritz again – twitching on and off. I wanted them removed but ran out of time. I’ll have them removed when I get the radar detector fixed this Saturday. The sub works fine but I regret upgrading from my 10″ kicker. This 12″ JBL is way more bass than I’ll ever use. I’m upset with myself for letting them talk me into upgrading.
This ended up cutting into our NC trip money, which was a bummer – and certainly not worth it. I’ve learned my lesson, next time I’ll do more research ahead of time and not be so quick to trust people.
